What do we pay for a silver Tudor Beasts?
Based on the silver rate of this moment, €1.75 per gram of fine material. As of:
| Variant | Fine silver | Total weight | We pay |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 oz | 62.207 g | — | €106.50 |
This price applies regardless of the year and the mint. With a rare year or exceptional condition the collector’s value can be higher than the material value – then we say so, even if that means you are better off not selling us the coin.
How we arrive at this amount
A coin is precious metal in a recognisable shape. What it fetches therefore depends almost entirely on the fine weight: the weight of pure silver it contains.
This coin is 999.9‰ pure, so the fine weight and the total weight are almost the same.
The successor to the Queen’s Beasts, with the heraldic animals of Henry VIII’s time. Again one beast per release, on the same two-ounce coin.
Not sure whether your coin is genuine? We check weight, diameter, thickness and – if in doubt – the density with X-ray analysis. Non-destructive: your coin stays intact.

How to recognise a Tudor Beast
The series opened in 2022 with the Lion of England, just as the Queen’s Beasts had six years earlier. The difference lies in the source: the Tudor beasts go back to the heraldic animals of Henry VIII, as they stand at Hampton Court Palace, rather than to the coronation statues of 1953.
Because the series began in the year of the change of monarch, there are coins with the portrait of Elizabeth II and coins with that of Charles III. For the silver weight it makes no difference.
Settled on two ounces
Every coin contains 62.207 grams of fine silver. We weigh it, test the fineness and settle at the silver rate of the moment – in cash or by bank transfer within 24 hours.
How to sell your silver Tudor Beasts
From walking in to being paid usually takes less than half an hour.
Do not polish it
With collector coins, cleaning can push the value down considerably. A natural patina belongs to them.

We assess two values
The precious metal and what the coin itself does: year, mintage and condition. You get the higher of the two.

Questions about selling silver Tudor Beasts
How do they differ from the Queen’s Beasts?
They are two separate Royal Mint series. The Queen’s Beasts ran from 2016 to 2021, the Tudor Beasts began in 2022. Weight and fineness are the same: two ounces of silver at 999.9.
Does the portrait of the king or queen count?
Not for the silver value. Both portraits carry the same 62.207 grams of fine silver.
How do you spot an imitation?
By weight, dimensions and fineness. A two-ounce coin is heavy enough for any deviation to show on the scale at once, and we test the fineness without damaging anything.
Do I get more for a coin in its original capsule?
Not for the silver value, but a capsule protects the coin and makes counting quicker. So feel free to leave it in.
