Questions about the calculator
How accurate is this calculation?
The calculator works with today’s rate and the fineness you select. If that fineness is correct, the outcome comes close to our actual offer. We establish the final amount at the table, after we have measured the weight and the fineness ourselves.
I do not know the carat, what now?
Make an estimate based on the stamp inside your piece of jewellery. If there is no stamp at all, choose 14 carat as a middle course – during the free valuation we measure the fineness exactly, and the amount is adjusted accordingly.
Does the calculator include stones?
No. This calculator covers the precious metal value only. There is a separate calculator for diamonds, and during a valuation we assess the stone and the setting separately from one another, so that you see both amounts.
Why does it say ‘indicative’?
Because we have not yet had your piece in our hands. The weight, the fineness and any non-metal parts can differ from what you entered, so the figure on screen is a guide rather than a binding offer.
