Salaried valuers
Nobody here works on commission per purchase. A customer who goes home without a deal costs the valuer nothing, and you can hear that at the table.
Registered dealer
When we buy precious metal we record your identity. That is not a choice of ours but a legal duty, and it applies to every dealer who keeps to the rules.
Calibrated weighing equipment
Every scale is calibrated periodically and the calibration certificate is available for inspection at the location. You may always ask to see it.
LBMA-recognised refineries
What we buy goes to refineries that can demonstrate responsible sourcing. That keeps the chain traceable, from your piece of jewellery to the bar.
Prices from the world market
Our prices follow the world market rate and are updated every minute. Every price page states the source and the time alongside, so you can check what is happening.
No advertising cookies

Every point above can be checked. Chamber of Commerce number 95774297 is in the trade register, the calibration certificate is held at the location, and the refinery appears on the LBMA list. How we arrive at a price is explained under how it works; what we pay today is under the current prices.
What that means in practice
A valuation costs you nothing and commits you to nothing. With an appointment you are usually helped within thirty minutes. Smaller amounts we pay out in cash; larger ones are in your account within 24 hours. Our rates come from the world market and are updated every minute – we have worked this way since 1992.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an appointment in order to sell?
An appointment is not compulsory: you are welcome to walk into any of our 45 locations in the Netherlands and Belgium. With an appointment a specialist is always ready for you and you are usually helped within thirty minutes. You can book an appointment online or by telephone.
What proof of identity do I need in order to sell?
You need valid proof of identity: a passport, an identity card or a driving licence. We are required by law to register your details whenever we buy precious metal, jewellery or watches. Without valid proof of identity we are therefore not allowed to buy anything from you.
When do I get my money after the sale?
You receive your money immediately after you have agreed to the valuation. Smaller amounts we pay out in cash; larger amounts are in your bank account within 24 hours. You first sign the purchase receipt, and the payment follows straight after that.
What does a valuation at XGOUD cost?
Nothing: every valuation at XGOUD is free and without obligation. You hear on the spot what your gold, jewellery or watch is worth and then decide for yourself whether you sell. If you decide against selling, you pay nothing at all.
