Which years count as silver Rijksdaalders?
The Juliana pieces struck from 1959 to 1966 are the silver ones. Later 2½ guilder coins were made from nickel and hold no precious metal at all. We sort them for you at the table and hand the nickel pieces straight back across the counter.
I have a whole tin of them, do you count them all?
Yes, bring the lot. We count and weigh in bulk, which is faster and no less accurate than working coin by coin, and you watch the scale while we do it. There is no minimum, and the valuation costs you nothing whatever you decide afterwards.
What do I have to bring apart from the coins?
Valid photo identification, and nothing else. A passport, identity card or driving licence is enough. The law requires us to register who we buy from, so the valuation can go ahead without it but the payment cannot. Original packaging or certificates are helpful but never obligatory.
How and when am I paid?
In cash or by bank transfer, and immediately. You accept the offer at the table and the money follows on the spot; where the amount is too large for cash, the transfer is in your account within 24 hours. There is no waiting period and nothing deducted afterwards.
