Which Koala sizes can I sell?
Three sizes reach our counter: the one-ounce coin, the ten-ounce coin and the one-kilo piece. Each is settled on the fine silver it contains at 999.9, so the price per coin follows directly from its weight against the silver rate of the day you visit.
Is a kilo coin harder to sell than an ounce?
Not with us. A one-kilo Koala is weighed and checked in exactly the same way as a single ounce, and we hold enough liquidity for larger pieces. Do mention it in advance, so the valuer has the right scale and the money ready when you arrive.
Does the annual design change matter?
Not for the silver value. The Koala carries a new reverse each year and every one of them holds the same fine silver for its size. Where a particular year turns out to be scarce we look at the collector’s market as well and tell you plainly.
What do I have to bring apart from the coins?
Valid photo identification, and nothing else. A passport, identity card or driving licence is enough. The law requires us to register who we buy from, so the valuation can go ahead without it but the payment cannot. Original packaging or certificates are helpful but never obligatory.
How and when am I paid?
In cash or by bank transfer, and immediately. You accept the offer at the table and the money follows on the spot; where the amount is too large for cash, the transfer is in your account within 24 hours. There is no waiting period and nothing deducted afterwards.
