What do we pay for a Silver Kangaroo?
Based on the silver rate of this moment, €1.62 per gram of fine material. As of:
| Variant | Fine silver | Total weight | We pay |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 oz | 31.104 g | — | €50.46 |
This price applies regardless of the year and the mint. With a rare year or exceptional condition the collector’s value can be higher than the material value – then we say so, even if that means you are better off not selling us the coin.
How we arrive at this amount
A coin is precious metal in a recognisable shape. What it fetches therefore depends almost entirely on the fine weight: the weight of pure silver it contains.
This coin is 999.9‰ pure, so the fine weight and the total weight are almost the same.
Not sure whether your coin is genuine? We check weight, diameter, thickness and – if in doubt – the density with X-ray analysis. Non-destructive: your coin stays intact.

How to sell your Silver Kangaroo
From walking in to being paid usually takes less than half an hour.
Do not polish it
With collector coins, cleaning can push the value down considerably. A natural patina belongs to them.
Bring it in
With or without an appointment, at one of our 45 locations. If the coin is in a holder, leave it in there.
We assess two values
The precious metal and what the coin itself does: year, mintage and condition. You get the higher of the two.
Paid out straight away
In cash or by bank transfer. Larger amounts reach your account within 24 hours.

Questions about selling Silver Kangaroo
How pure is the Silver Kangaroo?
It is struck at 999.9 fine, which places it at the top of the bullion range alongside the Maple Leaf and the Koala. One coin therefore holds 31.1035 grams of silver and virtually nothing else, and that full weight is what our offer is built on.
Does the year of issue change what I get?
For the silver value it makes no difference: every year holds the same ounce of fine silver. A handful of smaller mintages interest collectors, so the valuer checks the date as a matter of course and tells you when a coin is worth more than its metal.
Can I sell a partly opened tube?
Yes, whole tubes, part tubes and single coins are all fine. We count and weigh whatever you bring, and an incomplete tube costs you nothing extra. Do let us know in advance if the total runs into hundreds of coins, so the counter can be prepared.
Can someone else sell the coins for me?
Only with their own valid photo identification, because we register the person actually selling. If you are handling an estate or acting for a family member, bring your own passport or identity card and any paperwork showing your position, and we explain what else is needed.
What happens after I accept the offer?
You are paid there and then. Cash comes out of the drawer for smaller amounts, and larger sums leave by bank transfer the same day and arrive within 24 hours. We give you a written statement of what was weighed, what it was worth and what you received.
