What do we pay for a gold Myths and Legends?
Based on the gold rate of this moment, €119.54 per gram of fine material. As of:
| Variant | Fine gold | Total weight | We pay |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 oz | 31.104 g | — | €3,718.03 |
This price applies regardless of the year and the mint. With a rare year or exceptional condition the collector’s value can be higher than the material value – then we say so, even if that means you are better off not selling us the coin.
How we arrive at this amount
A coin is precious metal in a recognisable shape. What it fetches therefore depends almost entirely on the fine weight: the weight of pure gold it contains.
This coin is 999.9‰ (24 carat) pure, so the fine weight and the total weight are almost the same.
Robin Hood, drawing his bow from a tree, was the first figure in this series in 2021.
Not sure whether your coin is genuine? We check weight, diameter, thickness and – if in doubt – the density with X-ray analysis. Non-destructive: your coin stays intact.

A story on an ounce
On the first coin Robin Hood sits in a tree, aiming at an opponent who stays out of sight. The design is by Jody Clark, who also drew a portrait of Elizabeth II for British coins.
Where the value lies
This series is struck as an investment coin, not as jewellery or a commemorative piece. Its value therefore lies in the troy ounce of 999.9 gold. We check weight, dimensions and fineness while you watch and then settle at the rate of the day.
A coin with scratches or fingerprints is worth just as much gold. Please do not polish it; that gains nothing and can damage the surface.
How to sell your gold Myths and Legends
From walking in to being paid usually takes less than half an hour.
Do not polish it
With collector coins, cleaning can push the value down considerably. A natural patina belongs to them.
Bring it in
With or without an appointment, at one of our 45 locations. If the coin is in a holder, leave it in there.
We assess two values
The precious metal and what the coin itself does: year, mintage and condition. You get the higher of the two.
Paid out straight away
In cash or by bank transfer. Larger amounts reach your account within 24 hours.

Questions about selling gold Myths and Legends
How much gold is in a Myths and Legends coin?
One troy ounce, 31.1035 grams of 999.9 gold. The total weight is therefore practically the same as the fine weight, and that is the figure we settle on.
Does Robin Hood fetch more than a later figure?
Not for the gold value. Every coin in the series contains the same ounce of gold. Only a proof issue with box and certificate may be valued separately.
Is this a British coin or a medal?
A genuine British coin with a face value of 100 pounds, struck by the Royal Mint. For our purchase, however, only the gold counts, not the face value.
What should I bring?
The coin and valid identification: a passport, identity card or driving licence. A capsule or certificate is useful but not required.
