What do we pay for a gold Klondike Gold Rush?
Based on the gold rate of this moment, €119.54 per gram of fine material. As of:
| Variant | Fine gold | Total weight | We pay |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 oz | 31.104 g | — | €3,718.03 |
This price applies regardless of the year and the mint. With a rare year or exceptional condition the collector’s value can be higher than the material value – then we say so, even if that means you are better off not selling us the coin.
How we arrive at this amount
A coin is precious metal in a recognisable shape. What it fetches therefore depends almost entirely on the fine weight: the weight of pure gold it contains.
This coin is 999.9‰ (24 carat) pure, so the fine weight and the total weight are almost the same.
A series of four coins (2021–2024) for the 125th anniversary of the Klondike gold rush, in five-nines gold.
Not sure whether your coin is genuine? We check weight, diameter, thickness and – if in doubt – the density with X-ray analysis. Non-destructive: your coin stays intact.

Gold prospectors on gold
The series recalls the stampede to the Klondike in north-western Canada at the end of the nineteenth century. The first coin of 2021 carries a laser mark: a tiny maple leaf with the number 21, visible only under a magnifying glass.
How we value it
Every coin contains a troy ounce of gold. Five-nines fineness is purer than the usual 999.9, but the difference is only a few milligrams of gold per ounce. We settle on 31.1035 grams of fine gold at the rate of the day.
The laser mark helps in recognising a genuine coin; we also always check weight, dimensions and fineness.
How to sell your gold Klondike Gold Rush
From walking in to being paid usually takes less than half an hour.
Do not polish it
With collector coins, cleaning can push the value down considerably. A natural patina belongs to them.
Bring it in
With or without an appointment, at one of our 45 locations. If the coin is in a holder, leave it in there.
We assess two values
The precious metal and what the coin itself does: year, mintage and condition. You get the higher of the two.

Questions about selling gold Klondike Gold Rush
How many coins are in the Klondike series?
Four, issued from 2021 up to and including 2024. Each has its own image, and all four are settled on their troy ounce of gold.
Is a complete set worth more?
Not for the gold value: four coins are four ounces of gold. A complete set in its original packaging may appeal to a collector; we assess that separately.
What is the laser mark on the coin?
A small maple leaf with the last two digits of the year, added as a security feature by the Royal Canadian Mint. It can only be seen properly under magnification.
Do I need to have the coin tested first?
No, we do that free of charge while you watch. You need not prepare anything except bringing valid identification.
