What do we pay for a gold Call of the Wild?
Based on the gold rate of this moment, €119.54 per gram of fine material. As of:
| Variant | Fine gold | Total weight | We pay |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 oz | 31.104 g | — | €3,718.03 |
This price applies regardless of the year and the mint. With a rare year or exceptional condition the collector’s value can be higher than the material value – then we say so, even if that means you are better off not selling us the coin.
How we arrive at this amount
A coin is precious metal in a recognisable shape. What it fetches therefore depends almost entirely on the fine weight: the weight of pure gold it contains.
This coin is 999.9‰ (24 carat) pure, so the fine weight and the total weight are almost the same.
Struck in 99.999 per cent gold – five nines, purer still than the ordinary Maple Leaf.
Not sure whether your coin is genuine? We check weight, diameter, thickness and – if in doubt – the density with X-ray analysis. Non-destructive: your coin stays intact.

Six animals with a call
After the wolf of 2014 came the cougar (2015), the grizzly bear (2016), the elk (2017), the golden eagle (2018) and the moose (2019). On every coin, wave lines run behind the animal like the sound of its call.
The face value of 200 Canadian dollars is strikingly high for a one-ounce coin, but for our purchase only the gold counts.
Five nines and what that means
The coin is 99.999 per cent gold. That is purer than the 999.9 of most investment coins, but the difference is only a few milligrams of gold per ounce. We settle on the troy ounce of fine gold inside.
Gold this pure is very soft. Keep the coin in its capsule and bring it in that way.
How to sell your gold Call of the Wild
From walking in to being paid usually takes less than half an hour.
Do not polish it
With collector coins, cleaning can push the value down considerably. A natural patina belongs to them.
Bring it in
With or without an appointment, at one of our 45 locations. If the coin is in a holder, leave it in there.
We assess two values
The precious metal and what the coin itself does: year, mintage and condition. You get the higher of the two.
Paid out straight away
In cash or by bank transfer. Larger amounts reach your account within 24 hours.

Questions about selling gold Call of the Wild
Does five nines fetch more than a Maple Leaf?
Hardly. Both contain one troy ounce of fine gold; the difference in purity is so small that it does not show in the price. We settle on 31.1035 grams of gold.
Which animals belong to this series?
The howling wolf, the cougar, the grizzly bear, the elk, the golden eagle and the moose, issued from 2014 up to and including 2019. They are all valued in the same way.
What does the face value of 200 dollars mean?
That is its legal value in Canada, not the value of the gold. For our purchase only the ounce of gold at the rate of the moment counts.
How do you check such a soft coin?
Without touching its surface: with a calibrated scale, callipers and an X-ray measurement of the fineness. The coin can stay in its capsule for this, or is taken out briefly while you watch.
