What we buy

Selling Pandora: what is Pandora silver really worth?

Most Pandora jewellery is 925 sterling silver, some of it 14 carat gold (585). At XGOUD you receive the material value for Pandora: what the silver or gold is worth. We pay nothing extra for the brand name, and we would rather say so up front.

What Pandora is made of

Many charms also contain glass, enamel or cubic zirconia. These do not count: only the metal has material value. Leather and fabric bracelets have no material value.

  • Sterling silver – marked S925 ALE or 925 ALE. Most bracelets, charms and rings.
  • 14 carat gold – marked G585 ALE or 585 ALE. A smaller part of the collection, with a much higher material value.
  • Pandora Shine – silver with a layer of 18 carat gold. It counts as silver; the gold layer yields nothing.
  • Pandora Rose – a rose-gold layer on a proprietary metal alloy. Not solid silver or gold; we measure what it contains.

What is a Pandora bracelet still worth?

As material: the weight times the silver fineness times the silver price. A 40-gram silver bracelet with charms contains 40 × 0.925 = 37 grams of pure silver. Silver is far cheaper per gram than gold, which is why the material value of silver Pandora is usually a fraction of what it cost new.

Gold Pandora is a different matter. A 3-gram gold charm in 585 contains 1.76 grams of pure gold, which per gram is worth dozens of times more than silver.

To be honest: for a complete, undamaged Pandora bracelet with popular charms, a private buyer often pays more than the material value. We pay only for the metal.

When reselling pays more, and when we do

Reselling via second-hand platforms or shops pays for undamaged, sought-after pieces, ideally with box and receipt. It takes time, you bear the risk of fraud, and many counterfeit charms in circulation push prices down.

Selling at material value is the logical choice for broken or incomplete pieces, loose charms, gold Pandora, and a drawer of mixed silver in which Pandora is only a part. You are paid immediately, in cash or within 24 hours by bank transfer, without advertising.

Thomas Sabo, Trollbeads and other branded silver

The same applies to other charm and fashion brands. Thomas Sabo and Trollbeads largely use 925 sterling silver; we pay for the silver content, not the brand.
