You come to one of our 45 locations. We weigh and test your piece at the table, you watch, and you receive an offer straight away. If you sell, we pay you out on the spot.
With larger batches we come to you, throughout the Netherlands and Belgium. Our valuer travels insured and values at your own kitchen table. Only then do you decide.
Our gemmologists and our watchmaker are based in Eindhoven, with the measuring equipment that goes with the work. For diamond, gemstones and branded watches this is the address.

The precious metal trade does not have the best name everywhere, and that is not entirely undeserved. Anyone who does not know what a gram of fine gold is worth can be a long way out. So since 1992 we have done the opposite of what you may be used to: we show you the sum.
You see the weight on the calibrated scale, you hear which fineness we measure, and you see the rate of the day that we apply. Those three figures lead to your offer, alongside our margin – which we publish openly per fineness on the site.
Comparing is allowed. We have no problem at all with you taking our offer to a competitor. Our prices are online, per carat and per alloy, precisely so that you can compare.
With an inheritance there is more to it than a price. Often there are several heirs, a notary is involved and a written valuation is needed for the estate inventory. We do that regularly – and we take the time for it.

Jewellery with a trade value we sell on, so that it is given a second life. The rest goes to the refinery: there it is melted, separated and turned into new fine gold. That is how your old necklace eventually comes back as a bar or as a new piece of jewellery.

„I'll start by sharing my experience at the Goud-Wissel office in Eindhoven, where I initially ended up on the advice of an acquaintance. I already found it strange that their website didn't tell me roughly what I would receive per gram [in my case 18-carat gold] for the jewellery I wanted to sell. When I came in, the introductory questions felt like a kind of check on whether I knew what I was talking about. Even more: it gave me the creeping feeling that this conversation would be directly linked to the amount they would offer me for my gold. As a layman, I admitted that the generally known current gold price was my only 'knowledge'. What followed was a whole story about the broad concept of this valuation and a list of elements that made it logical that the buying price came nowhere near it. I had to realise that the basic costs of the gold exchange office: rent / fittings / staff / outsourced melting etc. were taken into account [read: deducted] from what was paid out to the customer at the bottom line. After testing, I was then offered 4,000 in short order. I had seen on a website that X-Goud also has a branch in Eindhoven, and it turned out to be almost around the corner. The owner happened to be there because the premises were being fitted out, but even though I had no appointment I was still received very warmly. After a clear, expert, no-obligation explanation and testing, Ekin named a rather different buying price compared to the Goud-Wisselkantoor where I had been an hour earlier. And luckily I had left to look for a kind of second opinion. X-GOUD bought my jewellery for 7,150!!!!!!!! A GOOD 3,000 MORE! Sorry for the long-winded build-up, but this piece really should have been written entirely in capitals so that everyone clearly reads how, in my view, to put it politely, they rip you off right to your face at the Goud-Wisselkantoor. Never. A valuation is free of charge and entirely without obligation. Many people have something valued purely to know where they stand, and go home again with their own piece. That is perfectly fine with us.
When buying precious metal we are legally required to record the identity of the seller. That protects you and us against trade in stolen goods. A passport, identity card or driving licence is enough, and we only note what the law requires.
Our scales are calibrated and checked periodically. The calibration certificate is available for inspection at every location, and you may always ask to see it before we weigh anything of yours.
When in doubt, or with valuable pieces, we use X-ray fluorescence: that measures the fineness without affecting the stone or the metal. Only with simple pieces do we use an acid test, and then always on a spot that is out of sight.
Jewellery with a trade value is given a second life and sold on. The rest goes to our refinery, is melted and separated, and comes back as new fine gold. The refineries we work with are LBMA-recognised.
